Angiolipofibroma of the Cecum: A Rare Type of Submucosal Polyp
نویسنده
چکیده
Mesenchymal type tumors originated in the submucosa represent a small percentage of colorectal polyps. This is particularly true for polyps composed of more than one mesenchymal tissue type. We herein present the pathological features of an unusual polypoid proliferation of mature fatty, fibrous, and vascular tissues including vessels of diverse nature and size. The histological findings support a hamartomatous rather than a true neoplastic origin for this rare lesion.

A sessile serrated adenoma/polyp (SSA/P) with cytological dysplasia in the right colon, which transformed to an invasive submucosal adenocarcinoma finally, was endoscopically observed in a 76-year-old woman. A whitish soft SSA/P (approximately 25 mm in diameter) was detected in the cecum. Biopsy samples were obtained from the small nodule, and the lesion was eventually diagnosed as an SSA/P wit...
متن کاملA Case of Inflammatory Fibroid Polyp with an Elongated Shape in Cecum
A 65‐year‐old woman had mild paroxysmal pain in the upper abdomen for 3 years. The surface mucosa of the polyp showed multifocal erosion [Figure 1b]. No diverticulum, other polyps or mass were found during endoscopy. She subsequently underwent en...
